New research in neuroscience and microscopy allows researchers to look deep into animal organs and nervous systems – from squids and worms to fish and salamanders.
The researchers have found a way to remove a range of common pigment types in tissue, enabling them to get high-resolution 3D-images of cells and tissue without the need for sectioning.
To look deep into the animals, they use a customized light-sheet microscope based on a SuperK laser and SuperK VARIA tunable filter.
